Consistently ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals by US News & World Report and by Child Magazine, Seattle Children’s Hospital receives referrals from more than 300 medical centers in the Pacific Northwest and handles more than 200,000 outpatient visits each year. Community support is integral to our success.
Our priorities for funding
Research
Philanthropic support for research allows our staff to conduct research that can influence practice and policy decisions. Communicating our research findings in peer-reviewed journals allows us to extend our reach to the broader pediatrics and bioethics communities.
Education and fellowships
Seattle Children’s Hospital is one of the top pediatric teaching hospitals in the country. Part of our mission is to educate the next generation of pediatric bioethicists. Endowed fellowships in bioethics allow us to recruit and retain the best and brightest young physicians and train them for careers in pediatric bioethics. In this way, our center can advance bioethics at other medical schools and children’s hospitals.
