Laura L. Loftis, MD, is an associate professor of Pediatrics and an affiliate associate professor of Medical Ethics in the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine. She is also a member of the pediatric critical care section at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Loftis received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas-Austin and her MD from Texas A&M University. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and her fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Loftis is a collaborating investigator in several multi-institutional studies pertaining to critical illness in children and is a member of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators network (PALISI). She also serves as a member of the Bioethics Committee at Texas Children’s Hospital and the Institutional Review Board at Baylor College of Medicine.
