Douglas J. Opel, MD

Douglas J. Opel, MD, is clinical bioethics fellow at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. He is also acting instructor in the Division of Bioethics, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Dr. Opel received his MD from the University of Chicago and completed his residency in pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He is general pediatrician at the University of Washington’s Roosevelt Pediatric Care Center. His research interests include measuring ethics quality and devising methods to address ethical dilemmas proactively.
